Installation Policy

Standard Procedures & Requirements

8-Wire High-Speed installation standards, customer obligations, technician guidelines, and applicable service fees - please review before your installation appointment.

8-Wire, LLC strives to provide the highest quality High-Speed internet service to each of its customers. These installation standard procedures and requirements have been adopted in advancement of that goal. All customers who use the service must comply with this Policy. Failure to comply may result in the suspension or cancellation of service. Use of the service constitutes an agreement to abide by this Policy and the Terms of Use Agreement.

The location of the antenna at your premises will be determined by 8-Wire High-Speed in its sole discretion, based on line-of-sight availability to the transmitting/receiving antenna and satisfactory signal strength.

Standard Installation

Standard installation is included with your service setup and covers the following practices:

  • Mounting the antenna via a bent-arm (J-Arm) bracket to the exterior of the building at the premises.
  • Affixing cable to the building exterior from the antenna location around the building via the most efficient route, and through the exterior wall to the interior location nearest your computer equipment.
  • Using 8-Wire High-Speed standard attachment hardware to affix the antenna mount and cable to the exterior of the building.
  • Configuring your existing installed computer hardware for Ethernet connectivity to the service.

Any additional materials or labor required to complete installation beyond the items listed above are not included in Standard installation and may be billable as Non-Standard installation fees.

Upon assessment of the premises, the installation technician will consult with you regarding the required antenna location, the most efficient cable route to the interior, and the method of attachment to the building.

Non-Standard Installation

If the installation plan requires services beyond Standard installation, or if you request installation beyond Standard practices, Non-Standard installation fees will apply. Non-standard practices include, but are not limited to:

  • Running cable through an attic or crawlspace.
  • Running cable along a path other than the most efficient path.
  • The use of special or non-standard attachment hardware.
  • Mounting the antenna on a mast or other support device.

The installation technician will advise you of any applicable Non-standard installation practices and associated costs. If you agree to Non-standard installation fees, you shall indicate agreement by initialing the applicable space on the 8-Wire High-Speed Internet Service Agreement.

Technician Restrictions

8-Wire High-Speed technicians are not permitted to perform work on a customer's roof, dig trenches, climb poles, or perform other laborious or hazardous work. If the premises require such activities, they must be performed by the customer or their representative at the customer's sole cost.

Customer Equipment Requirements

In some cases, your computer will require additional equipment or software installation, updates, or reconfiguration to connect to the service. This may include network adapters, Windows Updates, and/or other software or hardware.

Installation and configuration of these items must be performed by the customer or the customer's representative, at the customer's sole cost. Our technicians cannot install or configure third-party software or hardware on your devices.

Technician's Final Decision

In all instances, the decision of the installation technician regarding mounting location, methods, materials, and suitability is definitive. Customers shall have the opportunity to express opinions and requests only during the initial consultation with the installation technician.

In the case of a disagreement between the customer and the technician regarding installation approach, the customer's sole option is to terminate the installation. See the Termination section for applicable charges.

Installation Termination

If installation is terminated by either party, the customer agrees to pay labor charges at the rate of $85.00 per hour for the time spent on the installation.

There is a minimum half (1/2) hour charge of $42.50 for labor costs upon termination. No credit will be given for labor charges paid for a terminated installation.
